How to merge PDF files safely
A reliable merge starts with readable source files, deliberate order and a final page check.
Prepare the sources
Open each PDF and confirm it is readable and not password-protected. Remove unnecessary files and note digital signatures. MrTools rejects encrypted PDFs and any modification invalidates existing signatures.
Set the order
Choose at least two PDFs and arrange them as the combined document should read. A new file is created locally and every original remains unchanged. Clear source filenames make long merges easier to verify.
Review the result
Open the merged copy and check page count, transitions, forms and annotations. Structural merging preserves supported PDF data, but signed sources do not produce a signed result. Keep the originals as authoritative copies.
